Cat Health Remedies

Milo's Healthy Powder
2 cups nutritional (torula)
1 cup lecithin granules
1/4 cup kelp powder 
1/4 cup bone meal (or 9,000 milligrams calcium or 5 teaspoons eggshell powder)
1,000 milligrams Vitamin C (ground) or 1/4 teaspoon sodium ascorbate (optional)
Mix all ingredients together in a 1-quart container and refrigerate. Add to each recipe as instructed. You may also add this mixture to commercial food as follows: 1 to 2 teaspoons per day for cats.

Flea Repellent Sleep Pillows
2 parts sage or rosemary
1 part catnip
1 part chamomile

Herbs may be used cut or whole. Mix enough to stuff a 2-foot square pillow for a cat. Sew the pillowcase out of a tough, washable fabric such as denim.

Diarrhea Cure
Rice, uncooked, 1/2 cup
Consomme' 1 can
Turkey Leg, 1 Large
Water, 2 cups

Boil the whole works until the meat falls off the bone. Allow to cool and cut the meat into very small pieces. Feed about two tablespoons per cat several times a day.

Herbal Flea Powder
1 part eucalyptus powder
1 part sage or rosemary 
1 part fennel powder
1 part yellow dock powder

Combine all ingredients in a shaker top jar and shake to mix.
Apply to your pet's fur by brushing backward with your hand or comb and sprinkling the powder into the roots of the hairs. Concentrate on the neck, back, and belly. Use just enough to add a little odor to the hairs.
For severe flea infestations, treat daily; otherwise, use two or three times a week.

Organic Way to Keep Fleas Away from Your Pet
In addition to proper food, frequent grooming is essential to keep fleas away from your pet. Shampooing with a mild organic lotion soap will kill many fleas by drowning. Afterwards, a lemon rinse will tone the cleansed skin, leaving a residual citrus odor that will help repel fleas for awhile.

To make such a rinse, slice one whole lemon and drop the slices (peel and all) into a pint of very hot water. Allow the lemon water to steep overnight, then remove the pulp by filtering or straining. Sponge the lemon rinse onto your pet's skin and allow it to air-dry (don't towel). This treatment is nontoxic and can be repeated daily until the skin condition improves.
